Why Germany's Removing Its Gold from the U.S.

This week, officials at the Bundesbank, Germany’s central bank, announced plans to withdraw portions of its massive gold reserves, estimated to be the second largest in the world after the Unites States, from vaults in London, Paris and New York. The move marks the end of a unique financial arrangement meant to protect German interests at the height of the Cold War.
