Ranking Colleges' Curricula

The American Council of Trustees and Alumni today released the 2014-2015 What Will They Learn?TM ratings. The study of the curricula of 1,098 colleges and universities across the country found that just 18% of colleges nationwide require even a single foundational course in American history; only 13% require intermediate-level foreign language; just 38% require even one literature course and just 3% require basic economics. Although four in five Americans say they believe all graduates should have to take the key courses outlined in the study, so few colleges follow through. Read the press release and check out your state in the full report.
