How to Stop Ebola

Stopping Ebola will require a more comprehensive, proactive response, both here at home and abroad. A man from Liberia has died of Ebola in Dallas, and two nurses who cared for him are sick with the disease. Now, residents of my home state Ohio may have been exposed after one of the sick nurses visited her family in Akron. Ebola continues to spread throughout West Africa, with the number of infected doubling every 15 to 20 days. More than a million people could be infected within a few months, according to the World Health Organization. At least 4,000 people have already died from the outbreak, and the death rate of those infected has risen to 70 percent.
