Imagine if Obamacare permitted insurers on the Exchanges to charge black people 50 percent more for health insurance than white people? Can you imagine the howls of rage from Al Sharpton? The unending blizzard of street marches and possibly even violence that would be triggered by such a flagrantly discriminatory provision? Now substitute people who are obese or who have HIV/AIDS or any of a number of other medical conditions that are driven largely by lifestyle/behavior rather than genetics and whose added annual medical costs can be measured in thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars.
