Debate Neglects Economic Growth

To their credit both candidates acknowledged the sluggish economy. Trump called the Great Recession recovery the “worst revival of the economy since the great depression,” while Clinton noted, “We need to have strong growth.”

Acknowledging the problem is the first step.

However, neither candidate explained that fixing America’s broken tax code is a good solution. Comprehensive tax reform that lowers rates for all businesses, reduces barriers to investment, and having a more globally-competitive system, would provide a big boost to the economy.
