Congress Must Pass Net Neutrality Free of Politicized FCC

One of the new Congress's top priorities must be passing “Net neutrality” legislation to prevent internet companies from blocking websites or “throttling” or censoring traffic on the web. But both sides of the aisle must insist the new Congress get this right — by passing lasting, permanent protections and rejecting bills carrying a message but little meaning, or unreliable quick fixes.

That includes shortcut proposals like the one from Senate Democrats to hand this issue back to the Trump FCC rather than do the harder work in Congress of passing its own permanent statutory law. The FCC-handoff is easier, but like many easy solutions, it's only a band aid.
