Stacey Abrams thinks she should be the vice-presidential nominee for the Democratic Party this fall, and she’s going to make sure you know it. She’s been relentlessly and openly campaigning for the position for months, with a noticeable increase now that Joe Biden has become the presumptive nominee.
It’s been quite the journey to this point. On ABC’s The View in March of 2019, Joy Behar asked Abrams about joining a Biden ticket, to which Abrams declared, “I think you don’t run for second place.” Abrams was more favorable to the idea of running for president herself in 2020, and when Behar later asked, “So an Abrams/Biden ticket, maybe you would consider?” Abrams responded, “I am open to a number of options right now. I’ve got plenty of time on my hands.”
