If Trump is defeated in his bid for reelection, it will not be primarily because of anything he did or did not do, nor because of the “appeal” of the Democratic ticket. It will be because the legacy media, print and electronic, abandoned responsible journalism, and lobbied, with the Democrats and their allies, against the president from the day he was nominated.
Worse still, and not just a little bit worse, they lent themselves to the promotion of the Russian conspiracy hoax, without any doubt the most elaborate attempt in the country’s history to nullify a presidential election.
When, as now, the media incorporate one-sided opinion in their news and feature stories they are no longer practicing journalism, they are practicing propaganda. And the damage in that is not just to the election process, momentous as that is.
