Can New Congress Find Common Ground on Gun Safety?

In 20 major American cities this summer, homicides increased by an average of 53%, leading to another round of calls for Washington to do something about gun violence.

But decades of endless, and often fruitless, battles in Washington over guns have made it more important than ever to focus on ideas that 1.) would actually reduce gun violence and 2.) could realistically become law.

Which begs the question: If a group of Democratic and Republican members were interested in passing legislation in the 2021-2022 Congress that could meaningfully enhance gun safety in America, where should they look?
