A Solution to America's Healthcare Trust Deficit

An amazing story is taking shape in Mississippi, where former NFL player and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders is leading the Jackson State football team this season. Coach Sanders, and his speeches to motivate the young men playing for him, have been a great source of inspiration for me and millions of Americans who are following the team on social media.

Sanders’ commitment to give back to trusted institutions is coming at a critical time, because so many Americans have lost confidence in the foundations of our culture. Part of this distrust comes from leaders who attack the social fabric, and declare that it must be destroyed. This is false; rather, our nation must continually strive to improve. 

Another threat to the trust people have in our society are the healthcare companies that spin falsehoods in order to make a profit. As the former Chairman of the House Committee on Government Reform, I believe the federal government must step in and actively curtail these companies looking to profit by promoting fake science or misleading advertisements.
