Right now, all across America, parents are having a sensitive talk with their kids. They’re letting them know that Christmas will be a little different this year. There will still be all the warmth and love that comes with the holiday, but there will likely be fewer presents under the tree.
Those parents are keeping the smile on their face for their kids, even though they may have grimaced as they got their shopping done. We can thank supply chain issues and rampant inflation. As this Christmas approaches, it will be the first year in nearly a decade that parents don’t spend more than the year prior. For many families, that extra money they would have spent is gone already. It went towards gas, and groceries, and the dollar store essentials that no longer cost a dollar.
