California’s policies have failed its residents. It’s one of the most expensive states to live in and instead of addressing an inability to keep the lights on, state officials are focused on creating more red tape. It’s not surprising that 117,552 residents left the once “Golden State” last year and 182,083 left the year prior.
Sacramento’s policies shouldn’t be a model, let alone a mandate, for other states, yet that is exactly what the Biden Administration is attempting to do. The Biden EPA recently gave the state a waiver under the Clean Air Act that allows California, and California only, to set its own emissions and electric vehicle standards. If upheld, this will raise auto prices and reduce consumer choice for residents in all states, not just California, hurting middle class families across the country.
