De-Industrializing the West

Britain drove the Industrial Revolution, with Germany close behind. Now those two countries are taking the lead in de-industrialization, something that no one would have imagined just 20 or 30 years ago. But that is what happens when you decide to double, triple or quadruple the cost of energy. You can’t compete with those, even those in much less developed societies, who pursue rational energy policies.
