Is there an honest politician left in America? Maybe John Fetterman. Maybe. But after watching the coverage, reading the headlines, and listening to the commentary surrounding the ICE incident in Minnesota, it’s hard not to feel disheartened—because what this episode reveals isn’t just dishonesty on the left, but futility on the right.
What happened in Minnesota was a tragedy. The killing of Renee Good was a tragedy. Full stop. A 37-year-old woman should be alive today. Any decent person—Democrat or Republican, left or right—should be able to say that without hedging or spinning.
But that’s not what happened.
Instead of restraint, instead of facts, Democrats immediately chose exploitation. They saw a death and treated it not as a human loss, but as a political opportunity. From Minneapolis to Sacramento to Washington, the rhetoric came fast and furious: “murder,” “occupation,” “Gestapo,” “tyranny.” These aren’t mistakes. They’re lies—deliberate, inflammatory lies designed to enrage, radicalize, and consolidate power.
The first casualty here was Renee Good. The second was the truth.
We are now living in a post-truth political culture largely driven by Democrats and amplified by their allies in the legacy media. You would think the networks might pause, gather the facts, and allow the justice system to work. Instead, they rushed headlong into narrative-building. Facts were optional. Context was irrelevant. Emotion was everything.
And now that the video evidence has been reviewed, here’s what we actually know: Renee Good was not a passive bystander. She was blocking traffic for several minutes, deliberately obstructing an active ICE operation. She was honking, gesturing, performing for the moment. She was part of a coordinated caravan that followed ICE agents specifically to interfere with lawful arrests. And according to the evidence, she drove directly toward a federal officer.
This does not make her death any less tragic. But facts matter. Choices matter. And had different choices been made, she would still be alive today.
Instead of acknowledging that reality, the left doubled down. Minneapolis descended into chaos—riots, mobs, and chants so grotesque they’re almost parody: “Save a life, kill ICE.” That slogan alone tells you everything you need to know about what this movement has become.
And let’s be honest about the endgame. This isn’t about justice. It’s about transformation. The left doesn’t want reform—they want rupture. No rule of law, only mob rule. Venezuela with better branding. Iran without the burqas.
You’ll hear figures like Mayor Jacob Frey or Governor Tim Walz talk solemnly about “justice.” These are the same leaders who championed Soros-backed prosecutors, no-cash bail, and a revolving door that sent violent criminals right back onto the streets. Today’s “Abolish ICE” activists are simply yesterday’s “Defund the Police” crowd with a new bumper sticker. Same radicals. Same agenda. Same chaos.
What’s been completely lost is why ICE was in Minnesota in the first place.
ICE was conducting an operation to arrest and deport illegal criminal aliens—individuals convicted of heinous crimes, including child rape and homicide. These are predators. And yet activists—and now rioters—are trying to physically stop federal agents from removing rapists and murderers from American communities.
Why was Renee Good obstructing those arrests? Because she was recruited, indoctrinated, and radicalized by organizations that seek to delegitimize the rule of law itself.
Let’s be crystal clear, because clarity is what’s missing most in this debate: ICE is not arresting citizens. ICE is not abducting innocent people. ICE is not targeting legal immigrants. These agents are not Donald Trump’s personal militia. This is not an American Gestapo. This is not tyranny. And it is not the end of democracy.
So why Minnesota? Because it’s a sanctuary state. Why are mobs able to interfere with federal law enforcement? Because local officials have tied the hands of police and prohibited cooperation with ICE. This chaos isn’t accidental—it’s policy.
Now, here’s where Republicans come in—and where they fail.
While Democrats lie with confidence, Republicans bumble incoherently. They assume the facts will speak for themselves. They retreat into silence or legalese while the left fills the vacuum with outrage and fiction. They can’t explain. They don’t persuade. They don’t meet emotion with clarity. And as a result, millions of Americans are profoundly misinformed—and worse, uninterested in being informed.
Show the anti-ICE militants the facts and you get name-calling. Offer context and you’re accused of cruelty.
We are stuck in partisan cul-de-sacs, shouting past one another while the truth gets run over in the middle of the road.
Until someone is willing to consistently tell the truth—about the law, about enforcement, about responsibility—tragedies like this will continue to be weaponized instead of prevented.
That’s the real disgrace.
