Dolly Parton Was Universally Beloved
I appreciated Dolly Parton’s singing and acting, and especially her songwriting, but I was most impressed by her ability to carve out a niche for herself as a unique character on the world stage, just as I have admired Muhammad Ali, Evel Knievel, Marilyn Monroe, John Wayne and, of course, Elvis Presley for basically creating personas that are entirely and eternally their own.
